It's hard to leave a domestic violence situation. Believe me, I know.
I've been-there, done-that. I stayed for a long time and there were many reasons for that. Other survivors of abuse that I know have similar stories. Children and finances probably top the lists of why victims stay in abuse.
We can't ask, "well why doesn't she (or he) just leave?"
It is never that simple.
Take a look at the many reasons on the graphic to the right. Did you stay for any of these reasons? Do you know someone else who has stayed due to any of these?
