When someone is experiencing abuse and tries to get help, they need validation, they need to be believed, and they need to know that they aren't being blamed.


Sometimes, even if well-intentioned, statements and questions can create harm. Listed below are just some of the ways that can happen in conversations with victims and survivors. This will help with what not to say.
