Why it's so hard to leave domestic abuse.

It's hard to leave a domestic violence situation. Believe me, I know.

I've been-there, done-that. I stayed for a long time, and there were many reasons for that. Other survivors of abuse that I know have similar stories. Children and finances top the lists of why victims stay in abuse.


We can't ask, "Well, why doesn't she (or he) just leave?"


It is never that simple. A better question to ask would be regarding what keeps them there.


Take a look at the many reasons in the graphic below. If you are a survivor, did you stay for any of these reasons? of these? Do you know someone who has?
